The Call In Commitee was subsequently renamed in May 2005 to be called Scrutiny Committee once more.  Minutes and agendas from this current Scrutiny Committee can be found in the main Committees section.

 

Its primary function has been to hold the Cabinet to account, by having the right to call-in, for reconsideration, decisions made but not implemented by the Cabinet.  This enabled the Committee to consider whether the decision was appropriate.  It could recommend that the Cabinet reconsiders the decision or even propose an alternative for the Cabinet / Council to consider.
