41/07 LICENSING OF LIMOUSINE – AGE POLICY

Consideration was given to a report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an amendment to the private hire vehicle age policy in respect of limousines.

The Licensing Officer presented her report and answered questions from the Committee.

Mr Davies was in attendance and presented his case to the Committee. He stated that due to the coming changes in legislation he was requesting that his vehicle be excluded from the Council’s Policy relating to vehicle age until new legislation was introduced in the next 12 months. Mr Davies answered questions from the Licensing Officer and members of the Committee.

RESOLVED:

  1. That due to the exception condition and the low annual mileage the vehicle, owned by Mr Davies, be licenced for a period of 12 months.
  2. That a 6 monthly check to be carried out on the vehicle by a Council approved engineer.

 

42/07 EXEMPT MATTERS

RESOLVED:

That under section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the remaining items on the grounds that they could involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

 

43/07 APPLICATION FOR A PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS’ LICENCE

Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence.

The Licensing Officer presented the report, in respect of case 1, to the Committee advising that the applicant was unable to be in attendance.

RESOLVED:

That the determination of the application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence be deferred.

 

44/07 APPLICATION FOR A PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS’ LICENCE

Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence.

The Licensing Officer presented the report, in respect of case 2, and answered questions from members of the Committee.

The applicant presented his case and answered questions from the Licensing Officer and members of the Committee.

(Members of the Committee retired to consider the application, in private, at approximately 10.21 a.m. and reconvened at 10.25 a.m. to announce their decision).

RESOLVED:

That the application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence be granted.

 

45/07 APPLICATION FOR A PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS’ LICENCE

Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence.

The Licensing Officer presented the report, in respect of case 3, to the Committee.

The applicant presented his case and answered questions from the Licensing Officer and members of the Committee.

(Members of the Committee retired to consider the application, in private, at approximately 10.33 a.m. and reconvened at 10.36 a.m. to announce their decision).

That the application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence be granted.

Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence.

The Licensing Officer presented the report, in respect of case 4, to the Committee advising that the applicant was unable to be in attendance.

RESOLVED:

That the determination of the application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence be deferred.

Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Licensing Officer in relation to an application for a Private Hire Drivers’ Licence.
