Councillors D. Roberts (Councillor Owen was present as his substitute) and Sambrook.09/08 EMPLOYEE SUGGESTION SCHEME
Consideration was given to the following suggestion received under the Council’s Employee Suggestion Scheme that was recommended for approval by the Corporate Management Team:
- To include the post codes of car parks on the Council’s Website to assist the growing number of Sat Nav users that visit the town and also to indicate on the Website and any map information produced the height restrictions that apply at car parks to help motor home drivers.
RESOLVED:
That the suggestion be approved and the employee be awarded £50 under the provisions of the Employee Suggestion Scheme.
10/08 FEES FOR MEDICAL REFEREES
Consideration was given to a report of the Environmental Health Manager seeking approval of a method for arriving at the fee to be paid to the Medical Referees for signing the cremation certificates at Emstrey crematorium following the cessation on 1st April 2008 of the national agreement mechanism whereby the fees were set by the National Joint Council.
RESOLVED:
That the mechanism set out in paragraph 3.3 of the Environmental Health Manager’s report for arriving at the fee to be paid to the Medical Referees for signing the cremation certificates at Emstrey crematorium be approved, namely:
That the fee (currently set at £18.50) will increase by the percentage agreed nationally for the annual local authority employees pay award, rounded up to the nearest 50p or pound. The increase being payable on the first of the month following agreement on the employees annual award.
11/08 EXEMPT ITEM
RESOLVED:
That under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the remaining item on the grounds that it could involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1, 3 and 4 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.
12/08 REQUEST FOR EARLY RELEASE OF PENSION
Consideration was given to an exempt report of the Personnel Manager on a request received for the early release of a pension under Regulation 30 of the Pension Scheme.
RESOLVED:
That Option B, as set out in paragraph 3.2 of the Personnel Manager’s report, for the early release of the pension be approved.
