Shrewsbury’s Christmas of Stars will be getting an extra sparkle this year with musical celebrations held every week in The Square to coincide with Late Night Shopping.
The entertainment is between 6pm and 8pm and will feature:
|
Wednesday 26 November |
Dave Ayres - Christmas Jazz |
|
Wednesday 3 December |
The Clive Barracks "Pop Group", formed from musicians within the Clive Barracks Big Band |
|
Wednesday 10 December |
Thomas Adams School Jazz Band and the Well Ministries |
These events lead up to our very special Christmas event – Carols in The Square on Wednesday 17th December. This event is jointly funded by Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council and BBC Radio Shropshire. The popularity of this event has increased each year and last year some 3,000 people attended.
BBC Radio Shropshire host the event and a live broadcast begins at 6pm, but if you don’t want to miss out, get there early as the fun starts around 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and don’t worry if you don’t know all the words, as carol sheets will be handed out on the night
Wem Jubilee Band led by Roger Thorne and Halfway House Male Voice Choir led by Brian Goodwin will be giving their usual spectacular performance.
Please come along and enjoy this festive occasion.
