Councillor Keith Brennand
Release Date:
24 May 2004
It is with regret that we advise you of the death last night (23rd May) of Councillor Keith Brennand.

Councillor Brennand was the Council's longest serving member, having been elected to the Council in 1980. He served as Mayor in 1996/97 and was Cabinet Portfolio holder for Planning Policy, Development Control, Building Control, Disability Access, review of Council land holding and Asset Management.
Councillor Brennand had a life long interest in recreational and leisure facilities and was highly respected for his understanding of complex development control matters. During 2003/04 he chaired the Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee and was Chairman of the Planning Committee.
His wisdom and good humour will be sadly missed by staff and fellow councillors.
Councillor Brennand was one of the two councillors serving the Column Ward in Shrewsbury.
