Website Planning Survey Success

Release Date: 29 June 2005
A survey of Online Planning services on all council websites in England was carried out in May, the results have been released today.

The survey, periodically carried out by Peter Pendleton Associates, is taken into account by central government when allocating funding to local councils.

Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council's Website was awarded a score of 20 out of 21, one of the highest in the country.

The Council's e-Government officer, Andrew Bennett said.

"We are really pleased with this score, it means we are joint 4th in the country. Planning is one of the most popular topics on our website and we want to make sure that we deliver a quality service to our customers."

When asked what the 21st point was for, Andrew replied,

"The final point is awarded for being able to view application plans on the website. We are working on that right now, so we hope to get full marks in the next survey!"
